LazyBones

We play some tunes from the 'Jay & Kai' quintet repertoire, plus pieces from the books of Kai Winding and Russell Garcia septets. The wonderful Emma performs some of the best standards, with the exciting (up-tempo) and lush (ballads) sounds of the four trombones behind her. This is something we are absolutely thrilled with, and we're sure you will be, too. Our music is melodic, swinging, happy and great to dance to.

Band Members:Don Jordan, Eric Budd, Wes Mowson, Lucas Clayton (trombones), Rory Clark (pno), Leon Heale (bs), James Osborne (dms) and Emma Smith (singer).

Blue Tango

bluetangoBlue Tango is clearly part of a world-wide ‘retro chic’ phenomenon which includes Harry Connick Jr, Diana Krall, Michael Buble, Norah Jones and the huge success of the Rod Stewart Great American Songbook series of CDs. We aim to produce interesting, original, guitar/vocal arrangements of much-loved classic popular songs.
The Name’ Blue Tango’ derives from the million-selling instrumental hit of 1952. It was a ‘blues’ tango played by an orchestra—a very good example of blended styles (in this case latin, blues and classical) so characteristic of pop music. So Blue Tango, among other things, is an indication of our love of pop music, especially in its jazzier forms. Blue Tango consists of Lynne Gough, a singer whose varied professional career includes membership of the Channel 9 Singers, and Dave Richard, a solo guitarist with a career stretching back to the folkie coffee lounges of the sixties. Recent gigs include Samson Hill Winery, Hickinbotham Winery, DiRiccardo''s Restaurant, Montmorency RSL and various retirement villages.
